Everyday needs a little sweetness!
Tasty snacks filled with balancing fats and magnesium-rich cacao are my current go to.
These Chocolate Tonic Bliss Balls are a blessing each afternoon and help keep my energy levels up and my stress levels down.
Cacao is dense in antioxidants and rich in minerals, whilst being minimally refined and free of added sugar. Sunflower seeds are rich in vitamin E and are a balanced source of healthy fats (great for mood support), and fiber (amazing for your bowels and blood sugar balance)
Cashews add a creamy taste and have dense levels of iron, manganese, zinc and magnesium.
The magic ingredient in this recipe is Ashwagandha. A root herb from ancient Ayurvedic medicine that acts as a tonic to aid recovery from chronic debilitation, it has adaptogenic properties to support balance of the adrenal glands and nervous system and mild sedative qualities to promote relaxation and peace within oneself.

The recipe is simple and quick to make, the bliss balls can be stored in a sealed container in the fridge for up to 10 days.
1 cup hot water
1 cup pitted dates
1 cup cashew nuts
1 cup sunflower seeds
1 cup coconut threads
2 heaped tablespoons raw cacao powder
1 heaped tablespoon ashwagandha powder
1 tsp peppermint essence
Sit pitted dates in boiling water for ~10 minutes or until softened, discard water.
Add cashews, sunflower seeds, dates and coconut to a food processor. Blend on high until a sticky paste has formed.
Add cacao, ashwagandha and peppermint essence. Blend until mixed.
Using clean hands roll mixture into bite sized balls, this recipe makes about 20.
